Intermittent rain all day.
We discussed parking at the front desk. Because we’re right in the core, the “special rate” is €23 a day. Because we stayed another three days, we were told about a parking lot, which is a 12-minute walk away and has a special rate of 72 hours for €20. That’s a savings of €50 so of course we decided to move the car
We walked down towards the bridges and along to see the Se Do Porto before crossing the Ponte Dom Luisi to catch the cable car that would take us to Port Wine Cellars on the other side of the river.
We grabbed some small bites at the market, all prepared fresh. We then stopped at the Quevedo wine cellar for a port tasting while listening to fado music.
I had every intention of buying a bottle to take back with us, but I fell in love with their advent calendar. This contained 24 50mL bottles for a variety of ports.
It was around 5 o’clock, and we thought we would take the ferry across the river and walk home. But it was dark by then, and they had stopped at 4 p.m. We ordered an Uber, which took us all over the place and cost us the same amount.
We spent a few minutes walking through the street and looking at the Christmas market before returning to our hotel. We were utterly exhausted.
