Our last day in Porto and the first few hours were without rain.
We walked to the train station, a stone's throw from our hotel.
Then we went to the famous bookstore, La Livraria Lello. Because it's become so popular, they charge five euros to get in. That amount can be used towards a book specifically. However, no book is under €15. Outside the bookstore, we stopped for a coffee and pastry; three seconds later, it started pouring rain. How advantageous for us.
It continued to rain intermittently for the rest of the day, as is typical of what we’ve experienced. This is not typical for Portugal, which needs the rain. However, it’s not being absorbed into the ground very well.
From there, we walked to the Igreja De Nossa Senhora Do Patrocínio. As we left, the sun broke out.
Louise had read about the Majestic Café, so we checked it out. We were interested in the decor, but what a tourist trap. The service was mediocre, and the food was not up to Portuguese standards. It was also overpriced. I decided to try the high tea even though I knew it would be disappointing. It was the worst, so I didn't even take a picture.
