We took our time today getting ready to start our long turn toward Bryce and Zion Canyon National Parks. People always mention the Grand Canyon South Rim, but there are many other remarkable parks in this area of the United States.
In Utah, there are the Mighty 5 National Parks.
Yesterday, we visited the first two – Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park. Today we went through Capital Reef National Park. Tomorrow we’ll go to Bryce, and the day after, Zion.
After a while, you may think you’re overloaded with all the different rock formations, and I suppose you would be, even though they’re all fantastic and magnificent. I purchased some tours from the GyPSY Guide audio app, which connects to satellite and talks to you as you go through various points on your trip. It is truly worth the investment. I know I’ll be purchasing the tour for Hawaii as well. Here’s what they have to say about the app.
“GyPSy Guide is just like having a tour guide in your car.
The guides highlight the very best things to see and do, with commentary playing automatically along the routes. Listen to stories about past explorers, plants and local wildlife, local legends and we’ll even make geology fun! You enjoy the freedom to drive yourself, at your own pace.”
Before driving into the park, we saw some beautiful sandstone with several pictographs on the side of the road.

After the park and on our way to our cabin in Hatch, we stopped to see the home that Butch Cassidy grew up in.
