One of the fabulous things about Montreal is that it doesn’t matter what time of year or month it is. There is bound to be some festival going on. Not only that, but many of the venues have free activities. That’s probably why Montreal is known as the city of festivals. For example, last week, we attended the Italia Festival and listen to some opera, which came on the heels of the Just for Laughs festival. It was also the Osheaga festival. This week marked the end of the international fireworks competition and was the start of pride. And the week after this, it will be the MUTEK festival.
It never ends. And although there’s been some rain this summer, it’s been pretty good for the festivals. Montreal is known for various festivals celebrating the city’s cultural diversity and artistic creativity.
Here are some of the notable festivals in Montreal:
Montreal International Jazz Festival: As one of the largest jazz festivals in the world, the Montreal International Jazz Festival draws in thousands of music fans from around the globe.
Just for Laughs: Just for Laughs is a comedy festival in Montreal every summer. The festival features a mix of stand-up comedy, improv shows, and other comedic performances worldwide.
