The Pretty Town of Sausalito
Today we took the ferry across to Sausalito. It is rather quaint and another place for the tourist to visit.
We took a bus from the central town to see the floating homes. This is something like the batches in New Zealand, except it’s far more extensive, and they called them arks. They cost quite a bit of money as well.
This is more like a floating marina with rather expensive rebuilt homes.
We stopped to see the ceiling and statue at the other end of town before catching the ferry back to San Francisco.
From here, we made it up to the Fairmont Hotel. Two separate friends told us we had to go and check it out, specifically the Tonga Bar.
Yes, it’s quite a place, but after our two fancy drinks with tax and tip amounting to just under $50 US, we decided not to pay another $30 for the live entertainment that was about to begin.
We sucked up the remainder of our strong drinks rather quickly, and I must say I felt tipsy on the bus ride home.
I don’t think either of us was really in the mood to do our full packing to prepare to leave for the next day.
