Some last words about Las Vegas. I’ve been there a few times, and you cannot stay more than two days without becoming overwhelmed and depressed.
Walking down the strip during daytime and nighttime is pretty mesmerizing, but all you need to do is spend a little bit of time inside a casino to realize just how depressing it is.
It doesn’t matter how opulent it is next to the casino section – at the tables and slots – it’s all the same – depressing. We were surprised that they’re still smoking allowed in the casinos. That only added to the seediness of the places.
Today we made our way from Las Vegas down to Phoenix, ready to fly out tomorrow.
Leaving Las Vegas
Pretty desolate desert journey with a few highlights, but the various cactuses along the way are definitely remarkable. At least they are for us because we’re not used to them.
The highlight today was to get in and see in person an old friend Sylva who lives in Phoenix but is hoping to move out. She joined us at our hotel for drinks and we reminisced about the “old” days.
Syl and I met 25 years ago or so, in the old Coach U days. Sorry we didn’t get to take that selfie together.
